50 years ago my grandmother would place a case of cigarettes into the mailbox as a holiday gift for the postman. Another case was left at the back door for the milk delivery. I wish it was that easy. These days I am wondering who to give to and what to give. There are teachers, assistant teachers, gymnastic teachers, swim teachers, librarians, physical therapists, bus drivers, postal workers, newspaper deliverer, FEDEX, UPS…
Gift cards are so nice, easy, and convenient. Is $10 to Target silly? But do you give more than that to the bus driver? Do you assume they drink coffee? Then the Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts debate starts.
So I make cookies. Some were Bristol Harbor Dark and Stormy cookies and some were Jenny’s sugar cookie recipe.
Maybe in 50 years my grandchild will be appalled by my gift of sugary treats.
