Garlic

The garden is still going strong despite my neglect. We have beets, carrots, lettuce, kale and onions that have survived the frost. I grabbed the peppers in the nick of time. When I was planning to put the garden beds to bed for the season I started reading about garlic. Evidently it is very easy to grow. My parents had an overflow of garlic from their CSA.  (Check out Jenny’s CSA post here). And my reading informed me that garlic grown locally is what should be used, no need to order them from a seed catalog. I planted them in October just taking apart the head and planting one bulb in each hole about 6 inches apart.  And will plan to harvest them in August. I will keep you posted.
