I was very excited to send this picture of my youngest to her Physical Therapist this fall. Climbing up the big slide at the playground meant to me she could navigate the physical world. Her struggles and delays were behind us. Last week I found [ this article ] that encourages climbing up the slide. I realize it is very controversial. Slide climbing is OK with me when the playground is mellow and no one is waiting at the top. What do you think?

Agreed! Slide climbing is totally acceptable if there aren’t others waiting! 🙂

I’m 47 years old. My generation played with heavy wooden blocks, jumped from swings onto grass and sand, spun around on merry go rounds and yes climbed up slides…. These are fun & necessary sensory experiences for young developing brains and sensory systems to have. Put away the battery operated toys And anything with a screen go old school play outside

Great for gross motor development as long as you say there is no one waiting at the top. Great for her!
