Carving pumpkins with power tools

Posting 2 Halloween posts today…

Why didn’t I ever think about carving pumpkins with power tools. Every year I get blisters from manually sawing away at the pumpkins to make simple eyes, nose, and a mouth for a jack o’ lantern. We were lucky enough to be invited to a pumpkin carving party thrown by a family with a very handy father who has lots of power tools.

The top was carved out with a sawzall with the big boy pulling the trigger and the host dad helping guide. The eyes were done with a drill with 2 or 3 inch hole saw attachment. A drill was also used for the nose with about a 1 inch spade drill bit. Then I helped with the mouth using a jigsaw.

Thanks for the power tool idea!! I don’t think I will be able to go back to the ouchy blister way.
